Hi experts ,

I am  beginner in HANA area . I have following doubts about HANA.

1. As HANA is in memory database , every thing is in main memory , Does it mean it does not  have or need any secondary storage like hard disk ??

2. How does HANA support ACID properties ??

Thanks in advance .

Hello Abhijit,

Your search engine of choice is always a great place to start.

Sometimes a picture does speak more than a thousand words so please find following a simplified view of HANA architecture.

Kindest Regards,

Amerjit

Hello,

hana has of course a persistency layer (disk storage) and follows the ACID model.

Please use the search function or read some blogs here in SCN, Im pretty sure you will find the information you need. The official HANA documentation you can find on http://help.sap.com/hana_appliance
