Dear All,
We are planing for a migration from Solaris 10 64 bit to windows 32 bit, and the database oracle remain same.
Whether we should convert the OS first and then the DB ,Can you please guide the steps.
Regards,
Kishore.R
Please do not use 32 Bit if you are not forced to.
Running SAP ABAP Server on 32 bit is a nightmare.
You will have to migrate the database too, because the datafiles are not binary compatible between Solaris and Windows.
So heterogenious system copy is the right term to search for in documentation and SAP notes.
kind regards

Hi Kishore
1. Before starting the migration pls check the PAM your current version SAP system supported or not with Windows 2008 with Oracle? http://service.sap.com/pam
2. You have to follow the Heterogeneous system copy method, Kindly refer the SAP System copy guide. from the link http://service.sap.com/guidefinder - Select the SAP Version & OS /DB.
3. As already said by peter you can use the 64 bit Windows 2008 or 2012 R2 with Oracle latest version.
