Hello everyone,
I setup system replication between two HANA systems.
There is an inconsistency in the primary system. So, I want to recoverwith the completed data backup.
What are the preprocessing and postprocessing of recoverying the primary system?
Preprocessing;
It's only to stop system replication?
If YES, how can I do? (unregister the secondary system?)
If NO, please tell me what it is.
Post processing;
It's only to re-start system replication?
If YES,how can I do?
(re-register the secondary system?
And then, I have to select the option 'Initiate full data shipping'?)
If NO, please tell me what it is.
e.g. Steps are;
1. Stop system replication (unregister the secondary system)
2. Recover the primary system with the completed data backup
3. Re-start system replication (re-unregister the secondary system
and select the option 'Initiate full data shipping')

Hello Noriko,
4.2.5.1.4.1 Point-In-Time Recovery of Primary System (within SAP HANA Administration Guide SPS 08) has given the detailed steps:
1. Stop the secondary system.
2. Recover the primary system.
3. Re-Register the secondary system.
4. Start the secondary system.

Hello Noriko,
'Initial full data shipping' is happened in step 3 - Re-Regsiter the secondary system. In my opinion, you do not need to take much care about this option, HANA can check and try to attempt automatically. (please just make an assumption, if only several pages are different between primary and secondary after recovery. Why HANA make a lot of effort to make a FULL snapshot shipping. )

Hello Ning,
Thanks.
I think it relate to how to initialize the secondary system and it's better to creat a new thread.
I would be happy if you could look at a new thread;
