HI,

Status Profile:

Profile used to control user statuses.

A status profile is created by the user in general status management.

In a status profile you can

• define the sequence in which user statuses can be activated

• define initial statuses

• allow or prohibit certain business transactions

Commitment:

All types of commitments and liabilities such as:

• outstanding orders (delivery commitment for confirmed orders)

• open purchase orders (acceptance commitment from binding orders)

• bill liability (total bill of exchange commitments at a bank)

The dates to meet these circumstances or scenarios is the commitment date.

Hi Kedar,

Alternative sales doc. type :Alternative sales document type that can be selected during document processing.

Use

During sales document processing you can switch to one of the sales document types specified here.

Status Profile : is just control user statuses.

In a status profile you can:

Define the sequence in which user statuses can be activated

Define initial statuses

Allow or prohibit certain business transactions

Material entry control

Controls how the entry field for the material or material order number should be interpreted in the sales order.

Commitment dates

Key that controls how the commitment quantities should be calculated per sales document type. It depends on the delivery time based on which the confirmation date is proposed for the required quantity.

Pl. reward if it helps.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Kedar,

1) Alt Sales Doc type -

This is used during sales order processing to switch from one sales document type to another like for example you can switch from order to contract during order processing without coming out of the document and using another transaction code and document type. The system performs certain checks before accepting an alternative sales document type.

2) Status Profile -

A status profile is created by the user in general status management. In a status profile you can:

o Define the sequence in which user statuses can be activated

o Define initial statuses

o Allow or prohibit certain business transactions

3) Material Entry Control -

Controls how the material can be entered during sales order processing i.e. using a material number or material number with description etc.

4) Commitment Date -

The commitment date is calculated using the delivery time for releases to contracts with delivery times, or sales orders that refer to quotations containing delivery times.

The committed quantity results from the agreed delivery time or the confirmed quantity, according to the calculation rule set here.

HI Kedar,

I can guide u abt Status profile

Status Profile

Status processing is used to identify the various stages that order passes through.

It is used basically in the industries where products are very very expensive such as Heavy Machineries. If u create a order for these type of material ur order goes under various stages for approvals from upper hirearchy in the company.

These approvals are managed in status profile.

lets take one example suppose u set a status profile as “ENTR”, “BOOK “ (Entered & Booked). When end user will create a order it will be in ENTR stage with this profile u cannot do the delivery(This u have to set in ur profile). Then upper

Hierarchy will change order status to booked which means approved.

You activate status profiles at various level like order header, order item level etc

SPRO->S&D->Sales->Sales Document->Define & Assign Status profile.
