Hi Team,
i'm in progress of EHP 7 Upgrade at phase Preprocessing.
I received an error in between phase MAIN_SHDCRE/SUBMOD_SHDDBCLONE?DBCLONE!
Its due to the transactional log is full and we don't have enough disk space.
Before the upgrade i kept recovery model simple. Can i shrink the log files in between the progress of upgrade.
Or is there any other option which i can survive this error.
Kindly suggest.
Regards
Nani
yes, you should be able to shirk the log file as long as the log file is empty.
If not then take manual backup of the log file from management studio and then shrink the log file.

hi Nani,
shrink sql server transaction log is transparent to application, which means has nothing to do with
upgrade. Please refer to link below to shrink transaction log:

Hi Nani
1. You can run the trunscate log backup in MS SQl server Management studio
2. Could you refer the SAP KBA
1951819 - How to check which process makes the transaction log get full in SQL Server tempdb.
