Hi,
I have a question on the Client Export/ Import. This is not Client Copy, it is Export/import via SCC8 and STMS.
FYI, I checked in 70547 as well as 1692763(which is valid for Client Copy, not Import) but could not get the answer.
If I do a Client Export from Production Client and Import it into a Quality System Client, what happens in the below scenario.
Assume there is a Table ZABC which has 3 fields in Quality but 2 Fields in Production because the latest Transport which has the 3rd field has not been imported to Production.
Now, during the Client Import of the Production Client into Quality, will it error out in STMS when Importing or will it just give a warning? If it gives a warning how is the data technically transferred (or should I say data consistency is ensured ?) since it has a extra field in the Dictionary? Is this something taken care by SCC7 - This is what my guess is, I want to be sure.
Thanks,
Bidwan
Hi Bidwan ,
What is the copy profile ou are planning to Use . Client independent profiles are available as well as Client dependent profiles .
The answer to your question depends on what profile you are planning to use
Thanks ,
Manu

I am using SAP_ALL (which doesn't copy cross client Customizing data)
When I do a compare of both the Repositories / Data Dictionary Object from QA to PRD, I see a few Z Tables wherein a Field is missing in PRD, which is logical, because Transport has not moved to PRD. How will a Client Import handle this situation? I think this should not be a issue as Client Export/Import from PRD to QA is a normal practice. But how does SAP handle this situation? Is it SCC7?
