Hi,
I have universe which was converted to UNX, I retrieve the universe to add to my projects, The data foundation is already created when i retreie the universe to local projects, which displaying all the tables (universes structure) The universe has more then 100 table and derived tables. I wanted to add one more connection to this data foundation to add few more tables from different database, but I don't see that options. Is possible or does IDT has the feature to add new connections to the existing universe, Is there any option available where i can avoid the starting from the scratch,
thanks
kareem
Hi Kareem,
A unv universe converted to unx universe will only be a single source universe.
You can replace or edit a connection but not add an additional connection.
For adding an additional connection you will need a new Data Foundation selected as Multi-source.
But if you're just changing the connection in single source.
Then create a new connection and a shortcut to your local project
Then open the data foundation
click the Connection button in the middle bottom.
Icon appears for selecting the new shortcut.
then save and go to ACTIONS on the toolbar.
Refresh Structure.
Save and republish the Business Layer.

Thanks Jacq,
can I use a Universe in new data foundation, example
1) I will create a new data foundation add connection1 tables
2) can I add UNX universe to to any data foundation,
The universe has more then 100 tables with joins and contexts which is lot of work if i do as a new data foundation , is it possible to use this universe or copy universe structure / tables to the new data foundation
Thanks
Kareem
