Hai,

What is Free of Charge Item ? In which situation we use Free of Charge item? What configuration settings I have to make for this?

What is the difference between free of charge Item and Free of charge delivery?

Hi,

The catelogues ,brouchers which provides along with a product for the information purpose known as text items, usually it gives on free of charge .

eg:When u buy any mobile set, u ll get the catelogue within that n has the info about that mobile n how to use i.e. not chargeble.nthing but free of charge item.

U dont need to do any specific settings, it will be changed while u configure the item category determination.

eg: TATX-not rel for pricing n del.

2)- In pharmacetical companies will send samples to its customers.

here the items send as free.

then we have special doc type . to send this samples free to their customers.

in std SAP: FD-Free of charge delivery doc type.

Hai Raj and ADI,

1. Every time we give the free of charge Item with the main item, shall we manually change the Item category in the sales order? But end user cannot know theses item category changes every time?

What is the item category group we have to enter for the text item in the Material masrter?

HI Siva,

No need to change the item cat in sales order

based on determination it will be copied automatically in sales order.

eg:

ORNORMTAN= TANN

maintain heigher level item category while determination of free of charge item cat in VOV7.

(just an example,may not relate to ur req)

for text dont maintain any item cat and try

if it wont work let me know

hi friend,

when u put the material in the item line, you may have noticed that the item cat is usually picked up on its own , here you dont enter manually. Same when suppose you are raising order for 100 cassettes and you want to give away 10 cassettes in kind, then what you do is put in first line item the material with 100 as order amount and then in second line put again the same material with order amount as10. Here you assign the material with 10 order qty's item cat as tann and give the hlvitcat same as the first line item number.

Free Of CHarge items are nothings but when you give rebate in kind. If you want to give away items for free then you use a itemm category TANN.

<b>Config:</b> Go to Tcode. VOV4 and assign your order and item group to cat TAN and Default level cate. TANN. While raising an order just assign the item categoiry as tann and higer level item cat. to the lowest level.

Whereas,

Free of charge delivery is the one which you want to use in case say eg.you want to send some free samples to the customer then you can create free of charge delivery without reference to sales order directly.

Free of charge Item means the company gives free goods for the customer or the company gives sample goods to the R& D Department for testing.

at time we can make this type of the order.
