It is out under http://support.sap.com in the catalog for Sybase Afaria, but this is a server side fix, not a client install.  You will need to apply this to your Afaria Server.

Hi Tracy,

Is there any impact on the existing Afaria managed devices upgrading to Android 5.0 and the Hotfix 9 is not applied yet on the server. What is the impact?

Thank you

I have not heard of any upgrade issues.  Without the hotfix the previous MMEP will not install properly.  When do you plan to update to HF 9 or later?

Okay, accordingly i have to set the priority of applying Hotfix. If there is any impact on the existing devices which already has MMEP correctly installed, then i should take it up very soon otherwise it will be in my task list (apply HF9 on DEV, test, apply on PRD and test). Expect to cover it up all by early next week.

Also i wanted to ask, We are currently on Afaria 7 SP5, HF 11 (no other hotfixes applied), the remedy for MMEP issue is HF9. I hope there is no issue in applying HF9 over our environment which is on Afaria 7 SP5, HF 11. Can you please confirm?

Thank & Regards

Sajan,

If you have HF11 then 9 is rolled in and there is no reason to apply 9.   Of late we are making sure to roll up all fixes into the latest release so you only have to apply the one.

You mean, the fix for MMEP install on Android 5 was already in place even before the launch of Android 5.0? I guess, HF9 was released quite some time ago before Android 5.0

Yes, it was released when the very first devices hit the market a few months ago in other regions.

Thank you Tracy. You are very generous and knowledgeable as always

Bdw, i was getting this issue on DEV while testing where no HF was applied (will apply it soon), but we already applied HF11 on PRD during first time Afaria setup itself hence no worries.
