SAP Installation error ECC 6 EHP4 windows 2008 Oracle 11g

hi

i got an error while installing SAP ECC 6.0 version at 9th (create database) step

An error occurred while processing option SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 Ready -Support Release 1 > Software Life-Cycle Options > System Copy > Oracle > Target System Installation > Central System > Based on AS ABAP > Central System( Last error reported by the step :SQL statement or script failed. DIAGNOSIS: Error message: Executable D:\oracle\PRD\112/bin/sqlplus returns 1..).

SOLUTION: For more information, see ora_sql_result.log and the oracle documentation.).You can now:

• Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
• Choose View Log to get more information about the error.
• Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to C:\Program Files/sapinst_instdir/ERPEhP4/LM/COPY/ORA/SYSTEM/CENTRAL/AS-ABAP/.

Please help in this regard.

Currently Iam stuck at Define Parameters stage of SAP Installation.

Iam experiencing error:  Oracle software not installed. Install Oracle software before continuing.

Have you installed the Oracle DB software?

If not, install the DB and then continue witt the installation

Yes i hav installed Oracle DB software...and run sapinst in which Currently Iam stuck at Define Parameters stage of SAP Installation.

Thank you all for your inputs...however ive uninstalled the system and doing it from scratch again...I am facing problem while deleting /usr/sap directory as it says folder already open in another program...I have stopped the services as well...what else needs to be done and what other services do i need to stop...

Just restart the complete system & than try to delete the required.

Hi Syed,

Are you completely removing all the directories from the system which get created during installation ?

Try to uninstall oracle by re execution of oracle setup & by choosing uninstall option or last to delete it manually.

I dont see the uninstall option in oracle setup...

\oracle folder created during installation is not getting deleted manually either...Do i need to look for somewhere else to be able to delete it...Plz suggest.

If you're doing an installation from scratch,best would be to re install OS or try to boot the OS into safe mode & delete the required.( Consult before System/OS expert ) before doing.

Goto oracle_home\deinstall folder and run deinstall.bat. You'll see an option to uninstall the existing version.

Hello Syed,

Maybe there are some services that get automatically started in Windows Services which do not allow you to delete the \oracle folder.

Please try and stop the relevant services if any and get rid of that directory, check with your OS admins if required.

The issue seems with DB.

How did you install the Oracle DB software. By scripts or manually?

If the error occurs during a new installation of the database, the scripts for creating the database ("CREATE DATABASE") may not have been processed correctly.

I installed db using scripts. however iam starting it from scratch...plz suggest the steps for system copy of new system using export of source system...i already got the source system export backup.

If you have the export of source system then you can directly import it on target system, using SWPM - Homogenous System Copy (R3load procedure). You could refer system copy guides for further info.
