Leading Zero's for Document Info Record

Former Member

All,

Is there a way to save DIR's with leading zeros?

E.g. I want to create/save a Document Info Record with number "0010000102".

Currently, if I try to create the DIR (external numbering), the system automatically skips the leading zeros and uses "10000102" to save the DIR.

We have configuration on material master to save materials with leading zeros, is there something similar for DIR's?

Regards,

Zoheb Hasan

You can use the Number Exit defined for each document type in DC10. The standard implementation uses MCDOKZNR.

Hi Zoheb,

it is the standard behaviour of the SAP system, that a numeric document

number is stored with leading zeroes in table DRAW. But for the DMS

transactions (e.g. CV01N, CV02N) these leading zeroes are removed by a

standard conversion process. So the document number is always displayed

without leading zeroes.

It is possible to create documents with leading zeros, but for that the

standard conversion routine for document numbers has to be changed.

Please read through SAP note 798206, which provides more

information on this topic.

Please note that a change of the conversion routine should be done

before going live - if the change is made in the mid way there could be

problems as some document numbers would be 25 character long while the

others would be of the size which is set after conversion.

Note that a change of the conversion routine is a modification of the

ERP standard! Any issues arising from a customer modification are

considered as consulting issues and fall outside of the scope of SAP

Active Global Support under the SAP maintenance agreement.

Best regards,

Christoph
