SAP content server 6.5

Hi All,

This is regarding the patch level of content server 6.5.

When I check http:// localhost:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo, I get the details as serverPatch=1,

does this mean that my  content server version is 6.5 patch level 1.

Because when I check in Software Download Centre, I get the latest patch level of Content server 6.5 as below:

patch name    CONTSERVE650SP01

patch level         0

Does this mean my content server is in teh latest patch level and  needs no upgrade?

Thanks for all the help.

Regards,

Nabanita

Hello,

The version info cannot be displayed due to the security requirement. And the SAP note corresponding for this change is 1748669. This will not affect your  real time operations. You can go ahead and perform operations with content server.

At present the only way to know which Content Server version you are on is by displaying the serverInfo.

When on Content Server version 6.50 there will be low serverPatch information
(i.e. serverPatch=1 or serverPatch=0) and also the serverVersion, serverBuild and pVersion will not be present as it was with Content Server version 6.40.
However I believe some further information will be added to CSadmin and/or serverInfo in the future stating the exact Content Server version.

Hi David,

Thanks for the reply.

I have checked in the server info, it shows as serverPatch=1.

I am considering that our content server version is on the latest patch level.

As in service market place, the patch level released is 0 for content server 6.5.

Hi All,

I am done with the installation of content server.

I have a concern that do we need to schedule a DB backup for content server?

Is this necessary.

Thanks,

Nabanita

Hi Vitaliy,

I tried finding serverPatch in the tab Statistics of the content repository, but the entry is missing.

Not able to find that.

Thanks for the response.

Hi Vitaliy,

Yes, I know that. But most probably the above screenshot is from version 46 and my version is 47.

But I can surely say that the entry is missing from the statistics tab.

Anyways we can check the same from the below link http://localhost:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo

Thanks,

Nabanita
