Disadvantages of modifying SAP(Agentry) Config

What are the disadvantages of making customization to standard agentry mobile app without making a "Z" copy? One of my customers has already made some changes to standard app with out making a z copy and I am trying to determine the cost to us in the long run. Appreciate if somebody can help clarify this question. Thanks in advance.

One other risk is that if you upgrade to a newer version of the AddOn the custom changes to the base application name may be lost.

Hello,

This is based on customer/individual preference. If you use the copy of Z application, you could have 2 different mobile applications of which one refers to the standard solution.
