Wich ports can i use with sap console?
i know 23 works fine, but have many risk.
thanks.
We have been using SAPConsole for 6 years now with bar code scaners transmitting information to SAP and then coming back with a conformation number. TFTP protocol works over port 23.
What risks do you need to address?

Maybe he is thinking of TFTP not being reliable. Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) is almost the same as File Transfer Protocol (FTP). The difference is that TFTP is not a guaranteed transimission. FTP transmission sends the information and waits for an acknowledgment that the other end received it. TFTP sends the information but does not wait for the acknowledgement.
If you are in your own network TFTP is fine. If you are sending it over something like the internet, then I would not do it.

You can use any port you want as long as you install the telnet software on it and tell both the devices and sap console where it is.
23 is only the default as per the services file.
