After giving the application server root access to the database server the issue was resolved.

Hello,

Please check the softlinks for dbg, profile and global if they are set up by

the installation correctly.

Re-link them and try again.

Hope this helps,

Dolores

Hello,

Here are the steps I performed to resolve the permissions issue.

On the application server (sapdvsma) using smitty I performed the following steps. Selected communications applications and services > NFS > Network file system (NFS) > change or show attributes of the exported directory > selected the path of the exported directory ( in our case it is /sapmnt/SM1) > under hosts allowed root access gave the data base host name (sapdvsmd).

Then I started the installation and it went through.
