Is there any pre-request to know complete MM or still basics will help to be SRM consultant ?
Hi
Incase you have Basic Knowledge of SAP MM module, then you can get some edge on learning SRM Module.
MM Module is quite vast, and SRM is a sub-compoenent of MM Module, which basically deals with E-Procurement. Incase you get some expetise in MM, then it will be always better in future.
Anyways, There are few links which gives good information on SRM.

You may find short description of all of this scenario on Wiki

Hope this will help.

Well, I have seen few SRM consultants who do not know MM.
1) You must know basics of purchasing to become SRM consultant.
2) If you know basic procurement cycle transactions in SAP-MM, it is better.
3) If you know SAP-MM very well, then it's excellent.
The above applies to Functional consultants and to some extent Technical consultants.
However, If you are an excellent learning attritude, it does not matter. You can learn both MM & SRM easily.
Best regards
Ramki
