Restrict material to storage type

Hello experts,

We have requirement in which we need to restrict some material which need to be store at normal temp, but since cold storage type is near to GR area operator manually using cold storage type.

As a result material are getting damaged.

Can you please suggest which method should be better?

1.Storage section indicator

2.Storage type indicator

3.or Movement type references

Please help....

You can control through storage type indicator.

so you have to maintan storege type indicator in the material master.

Let me guess, you do not even have a putaway strategy and hence it is just the operator who decides where he want to store.

So it goes back to the very basics in implementing WM, you have to decide if you you want a strategy and follow your design all the way through, or if you are continue without strategy and need better operators.

If you want to go with a strategy then you need a warehouse manager with strong skills on his business and a consultant with strong skills in WM who can explain advantages and disadvantages for certain wishes and customizing settings.

This is not really something that you can learn easily  by your own if you neither have SAP WM skills nor skills how to operate a warehouse physically.
