CTM for MTO

Hello experts

The following post from 2012 says that the CTM in SNP only supports Make to Order but not Make to Stock strategy as of SCM 5.0.

Now that we have SCM 7.0 and many more service packs, do we still have the same issue?

Hello KA,

CTM supports MTO & MTS scenarios.

The problem that I had it was tied to the transfer of the SNP PL.Orders generated by CTM SNP MTO to ECC system. Either today we're doing the conversion from SNP.Pl.Order to Pl.Order to can CIF them on ECC side!

Thanks.

Thanks Marius

Are you on SCM 7.0 now? I read the option to activate change pointers so that these can be sent to ECC. Did that work?

Yes, our release is 7.2. We didn't activate the change pointers! In BD61 is already activated.

Now, the business is OK with this. We don't need to have the MTO SNP.Pl.Orders (generated for MTO forecast at plant level) in ECC system. So, it's up to the planner to takes the decision when and what will send in ECC through the conversion step (for components stock plan).

Thanks.

Regards, Marius
