SAP ID Authentication on Portal

Hi all,

If a customer is not signed into SAP ID and clicks on a link or bookmark that takes them directly to the portal, are they prompted to sign in? My security method on the portal is 'Authenticated'.

Hi,

If your portal is configured to work with SAP ID Service (can be any other IdP which supports SAML2.0), and the portal site access level is set to 'Authenticated', only  registered users will gain access to the site. Others, will have to register in the respective landscape (trial/ productive).

So if they access the site, are they taken to some sort of buffer screen that forces them to register or login?

Also regarding authentication, I only able to access the portal while on the SAP corporate network. Will this change once I assign a custom domain?

You should be able to access cloud portal site from the web. Regarding the login question, it depends on the IdP you're using, Specifically SAP ID has no registration flow during the login process.
