Unable to apply add-on in sap.

Hi,

I am trying to apply add-on through SAINT, I downloaded the add-on and extracted. Kept in trans/EPS/IN. when i click on start button to install add-on, the system will get hang. There are no dumps are found. This system has SAINT version 7.00/0054.  ECC 6.0 EHP0. OS- Linux. Please suggest me to resolve it.

can you move or rename the file <package>.SID from \usr\sap\trans\tmp  or

completely remove tmp folder and create a new tmp folder in \usr\sap\trans and try to execute .

Thanks for info. after changing name <package>.SID. The system hanging issue resolved.

but it asking for SPAM 0057 level. But in SMP only 0056 available.

Strange .. Please report an incident  to SAP using component XX-SER-SAPSMP-SWC.

1. Before stating the add-on installation pls refer the SAP note for prerequisite

921103 - Installation/upgrade Add-On Assembly Kit 4.00

2. For SPAM/ SAINT issue try to implement the SAP note and then try your installation

2105713 - Missing import steps during the installation or upgrade of add-on components

I think you guided better than SAP people. They are clueless about it. I will rise again OSS with SAP.

Hi ,

As you're performing to implement AOFTOOLS 400 installation ,so for same have you gone through SAP Notes  921103 - Installation/upgrade Add-On Assembly Kit 4.00

&  350361 - Release strategy of the Add-On Assembly Kit (Add-On AOFTOOLS)

From Note 921103

If a more recent version is available on SAP Service Marketplace, import the new SPAM/SAINT update.

You need to wait for 0057 or best to raise OSS with SAP.

Hi Manjappa,

Which add-on are you trying to install? Some time if the Add-on is not compatible to your SAP system, SAINT will not pick it up from EPS\IN.. Please confirm the add-on you are trying to install and the currently SAP_BASIS level on your system?

Is there any dump generated during the process,if possible share if any with system logs from SM21.Addition to it share SLOG & ALOG entries from /usr/sap/trans/log directory.

Hi,

After you put the extract in EPS/in, from SAINT menu did you perform the step - Load from Application server? Also check the file systems have enough space for the add-on install.
