Functionality of Loop and Ruleset

Hi GRC Experts,

I have seen documents and threads, which show creating Loop and Ruleset, but never did find any, explaining ;what a loop or Ruleset mean' and how do they work. Could someone provide link/document(if it exists) for the same .

if no link/document exists, can experts create one. This will really give meaning to applications as 'HR triggers' and 'User Default'
