Shadow instance start up failed

Hi Experts,

I am performing EHP 3.0 upgrade on SCM 7.0 system and getting below errors in preprocessing phase.

Severe error(s) occurred in phase MAIN_SHDPREPUT/START_SHDI_PREPUT!
Last error code set: Shadow instance couldn't be started, check 'STARTSSC.LOG' and 'DEVTRACE.LOG': Process

'STARTSSC.LOG':

2EETQ231 RFC Login failed

3 ETQ399 SYSTEM HEALTH MANAGER: Port 3259 appears to be unused.
3 ETQ399 SYSTEM HEALTH MANAGER: Port 3359 appears to be unused.
3 ETQ399 SYSTEM HEALTH MANAGER: Port 3659 appears to be unused.
3 ETQ399 SYSTEM HEALTH MANAGER: Port 3959 appears to be unused.
3 ETQ399 SYSTEM HEALTH MANAGER: Port 8159 appears to be unused.
3 ETQ399 SYSTEM HEALTH MANAGER: Port 35901 appears to be unused.

SAPup.ECO:


FAIL: process disp+work Dispatcher not running for shadow instance

But I dont see the dev_disp trace under shadow instance work directory.

why the RFC login failed for shadow instance

what could be the reason for this issue and help to resolve

Have you tried to restart the shadow instance with SAPup stopshd and SAPup startshd? You can find SAPup in abap\bin folder.

Could you share complete log files STARTSSC.LOG & DEVTRACE.LOG ?
