DB13 Backup error

Hello Dear,

I am trying to take back on network disk through hp- ux sap through DB13.

I mounted the disk and permission is ok.

after completing of 65 % backup, Error is coming like permission denied as-

Instead of command

brconnect -u / -c -f check -SFP

could you execute brconnect -u / -c -f check  & share the result.

What happends when you run it manually from the OS to do a backup to disk ?

brbackup -p initSID.sap -d disk -t online -m all -k no -e 0 -l E -u /

(remember to change backup_root_dir in the initSID.sap)

is that successfull ?

Hi Santosh,

Could you check SAP Note  1173159 - BR*Tools errors occur when accessing "database" directory

and follow solution for symptom 2 from it.

Addition to it try to patch br*tools with latest available & retry the process.

Hi Santosh

Can you please compare the permission of this data file : /back/bepwvzqk/sr4.data22  with the others in the system.

Looks like the backup utility is unable to access it when triggered from DB13.

Another option - can you run the brbackup command using the ora<sid> user and check if you are still getting the error .
