SYSTEM_CORE_DUMPED after applying Kernel 720 patch level 412

Dear experts,

I have this situation in a CRM  system  SAP NW 701:

After applying the SAP Kernel  720 patch level 412 in a Quality System, it has been generating several dumps (SYSTEM_CORE_DUMPED). The Kernel was applied before in other sytems (development system) and It never appeared  the dump. It should be noted that the Development systems only have one instance for the application and database.  The QAS  has a similar infrastructure  to productive system ( three application server, 2 database nodes and one enqueue server).

I  have applied the Kernel twice  and the DUMPS keep  appearing.

The  method used to reach the last level  was unzipping the last kernel  version (level 400)  and replace  the files disp+work package - TP - R3TRANS - sapcpe - SAPHTTP - SAPMC  Kernel utilities for the last patches realeased by SAP in order to update to level 412. Is a good practice to replace the files as  I have described?

The last Kernel was 720 patch level 300.

The patch level applied was 412.

Operative System  AIX 64 Bits

Data base Oracle  10G

I have checked other  incidents similars to this one  in the SCN but I haven’t found an specific with this case.  SAP Notes  either I have found.

According to your SAP experience, What do you recommend me to troubleshoot this issue?

For further analisys please check the .txt file for log information.

Dear all,

Thanks for all your valuable comments.

I let you know that after applying the package level 416 the SYSTEM_CORE_DUMPED  has disappeared.  It could have been a bug for the PL 412 in distributed system.

Best regards,

DanielO

Hi Daniel,

Do you  know about known issues with SAP Kernel 721 ext PL 412?  Any related note?

Could you check with SAP Note  2098400 - Known regressions in kernel 7.21 patch level 412

&   1802333 - Finding information about regressions in the SAP kernel

Hope this will help you.

Hello Manu

Do you  know about known issues with SAP Kernel 721 ext PL 412?  Any related note?

I have found the note 2121693 - SAP Support Package Stack Kernel 7.21 (EXT) Patch Level 401 but nothing about PL 412 issues with any dump.

Thanks Manu,

I know, I have  been looking for any note  but I haven't found what I'm looking for.

Let us hope that someone else knows how to solve the issue since this patch is   one of the last released.

Thanks anyway,

Hi Daniel

From the work-process trace file it's showing kernel 7.21 (not on 7.20,).

have you downloaded the kernel 7.20 or 7.21? refer the snapshot

Hell Sriram,

Thanks for your response.

It was my mistake during the transcription. But I confirm that   the SAP Kernel applied was 7.21 64 BIT UNICODE.

Hello Daniel:

Try to patch the complete kernel with these files SAPEXE, SAPEXEDB, DBATOOLS.

Check authorizations with new kernel, run saproot.sh.

Always backup your current kernel first.

Regards.

Pablo.
