How can you transport objects/configs from non-HANA to HANA ECC?

Hi gurus,

While waiting the HANA box delivered to install Suite on HANA, we would like to start developing certain programs/configs etc in the second sandbox ( same SAP ECC version but on Oracle DB). If we do that if and how can we transport the changes to HANA box when it's delivered?

Cheers,

Tansu

Obviously you will only be able to develop non-HANA objects in this setup.

Depending on your needs that means, that you might miss out on development options, e.g. putting part of your data processing to SAP HANA level.

Other than that, you can simply assign your ABAP code changes to a transport job and later on import the transport into your ABAP on HANA instance.

Thanks Lars for confirming. I haven't had this case before, so wasn't sure if it would work in real life

Dear Lars,

Thanks for your reply on this thread!

I have a follow up query. Can we transport ABAP objects from ECC 6.0 EHP4 on Oracle to ECC 6.0 EHP7 on HANA? What would be the pitfalls? Will I get the objects in the new system? Will the objects get imported at all, even with errors?

Regards,

Nisheeth
