Bulk strategy inEWM

I am facing issue in picking process for Bulk strategy.

Stock has been maintained in storage type.In a bin as per config 15 Handling Units are placed.

I have created outbound delivery with 10 EA. While creation of task system is creating only one task with 10 EA.Any clue why system is proposing only one task for entire quantity ?

When delivery is created with 1 EA system is working as per expectation and Bin is getting blocked.

Hi Sastry,

Perhaps, Wave settings are causing this clubbing of 10EA into on task..
If you can provide Task screen-print we can take it forward:)

Hi,

if one task is proposed for entire quantity, does it mean the system picks the HU content instead of HU itself? Can you check in the Warehouse Process Type the HU control f. HU Pick is blank or 1?

Hi Petr,

HU content is only 1 EA. but while task creation system is proposing only Bin. My delivery requested quantity is 10 EA. We have changed config Round Whole Units to "Round Down WT Quantity to Single Unit"

After changing this config now system is not able to find the bin.

by the way Control f. HU Pick settings maintained as "Adopt source HU with lower-level HUs into pick HU".

Hi Sastry,

Generally for bulk storage, most of the quantity classification is used so that system can only remove the full HU/Pallet quantities. Check if you are using quantity classification for the bulk storage.

Also, check the Storage type control for bulk storage in

IMG -> EWM -> GR Process -> Strategies -> Putaway Rules -> Storage behavior bulk storage.

Partial quantity indicator is having important role in putaway as well as in picking of products.

You should customize rounding in your picking warehouse process type.

Btw, How many EA contain in HU?

Hi Alex,

Thank you for input. Got clarity for the process on bulk. Unfortunately this did not solve the problem.

Let me give you more information. Inbound delivery is created for 90 EA.Delivery line item product each one is packed one HU. in ERP now there are total 90 HUS and are distributed to EWM.

EWM config is one bin hold 15 HU. So total 90 quantity is placed in to 6 Bins. This is fine till putaway completion.

Now when I have created outbound quantity for 8 EA. Only one task is created. ( before config change).

Based on input configuration has been changed in warehouse process type. Now system is not able to find bin.

I have attached screen shot.
