BI 7.0 on OS400 and MSSQL Connection

Hi,

We want to extract data from a remote MSSQL DB and our BI System runs on OS400.

IS there any way to achieve tihs without installing a Windows Appl Server

no, unfortunately not :-((

As Microsoft creates the MS-SQL-Client on Windows only (not on Linux, i5, etc.) - EVERY platform other than windows has to use an windows appl server - or a totally different type of interface, that doesn't use the DB-Client ...

At least, XML and regular data files can be used to move data. (Refered as "totally different type of interface" by Volker)
