Events reported in external system

Hi,

Today we have a requirement where at various sites in legacy system events such as departure, arrival etc are reported. Now currently its been decided to integrate these legacy application system ( site execution relevant with vehicles registration )  with event management. From technical perspective we basically have the std EM BAPI which can help us but can someone throw light how this can be interfaced by using the framework which EM has?

Also it needs to be integrated external warehouse management system. How do we handle this and what info to be kept in mind from design perspective?

Hi Dipak,

Yes, EM BAPI's can be interfaced with Non-SAP system but you need a middleware to integrate into SAP EM system.  As I pointed out earlier, a little bit worry on designing solution especially on exception handling as we always back and forth send emails to third party legacy systems for non-reported or failed events.  You can use proprocessing function and integrate and build up master tables in SAP EM to avoid bad data & check data quality or if your client is using SAP BRF+ that would be a big advantage in longer a run to implement complex master tables also for SAP EM.

If you look at previous discussions on SAP EWM integration with SAP EM, we don't have standard extractors or program available to connect SAP EWM.  However, you can make custom RFC program to report or extract events in SAP EM.
