Hi Team,

We have  upgraded our ECC 6.0 EHP5  to  ECC6.0 EHP7 once it is done , system performance is too slow.

While using tcodes db02 , sm37 , st04old , then certain specific tcodes.

Also smlg response time for once specific server is too much even without running much jobs..

Can anyone advice on this.

Your inputs are highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Pradeep G,

This is a know issue when you upgrade to Netweaver 7.40.

Please check SAP note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/2013043.

Hi Pradeep,

Were you able to resolve your issue?

I found another interesting blog on SCN to do performance analysis.

http://scn.sap.com/community/netweaver/blog/2015/01/27/quick-and-effective-performance-analysis-and-...

I hope this would help you find the root cause of your issue.

Hi Pradeep,

To troubleshoot performance issues please try the following

  • As your system is recently upgraded please check if SGEN was completed successfully as Karthik suggested above.
  • Check workload analysis in ST03(expert view) and see what component of response time is taking longer
  • If you feel that all the steps on upgrade were completed successfully, collect ST12 trace and analyze this trace for further investigation.

Good luck!!!

Pradeep

Hello Pradeep,

I had similar issues after EHP7 SP4 upgrade and here are our actions:

  • Review HW configuration and optimize I/O and Network
  • Review SAP parameters, specially related with Gateway and Memory
  • Apply the latest Support Package and SAP Kernel

Check these notes: 2050408 and 2085980

Cheers,

Hi Pradeep,

With 7.3 and above, the program buffer area occupies more memory than it usually did in the older releases. You can do the following:

1. Check and compare the instance profile file of the slow app server, with any other normal running app server of the concerned system. Specifically, the abap/buffer_area, and the zcsa/* parameters.

2. Run the stats update with the "collect" option. This will take time to run, but worth the time.

3. Check the Oracle init parameter values (initSID.ora). There could have been changes made to the EVENT and FIX_CONTROL parameters which have to be taken care of.

Please let me know if the above mentioned options helped resolve the issue.

Cheers!
