Error in phase RSVBCHCK.ER2 during SAP ERP update.

Former Member

Hi everyone!

I am doing SPS update on SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 6. During checks phase i got an error in RSVBCHCK.ER2 step

2EETG050 Update records still exist - Please process.

I tried to run report RSM13002 but failed to resolve this issue. I didn't try to manually edit tables VBHDR and VBERROR. I am thinking of skipping this check and continue with update. Could I skip this step?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Zeljko,

don't skip the step!

You mentioned that report RSM13002 failed to resolve this issue. Can you please elaborate why it failed? What was the error?

Anyway, you can refer to note #67014:

*****************************************************************

Entries cannot exist in the update tables when you upgrade to a higher

release. If the aforementioned measures fail, you may need to clean the

VBHDR and VBERROR tables using database tools.

******************************************************************

After you running report RSM13002 with "DELETE" option to delete update records as explained in attached note 67014. If the entries still exits please clean the VBERROR tables using database tools.

Hi Zeljko,

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but perhaps KBA #1790486 might help you cleaning up your system against UPG-related inconsistencies.

Hi Zeljko,

I know I shouldn't,  but I did skip this step.

Thanks to GOD !! your system was a test system only,& hope you'll not ignore SAP recommended Notes & suggestions from SCN community members in production environments for your future projects.

Hope you'll consider .

Good luck !!

In any case if you reset and move back to the error phase once again  what is the most you would do

You will clean the updates using the DB method  ( ie you still loose that updates ).

Dont believe  whether you would want to reset just to clear ( delete ) the updates .

The idea the check was put there was to make sure that no updates are left in hanging mode when the upgrade is happening .

Thanks ,

OK, thanks!

Since I am not in a execution phase yet, is it possible to restart update, and start it from the beginning?

And why do you want to do that

Hi  Zeljko ,

If you have already passed the error phase and currently if it is not prompting you  please proceed and

Do NOT  try deleting any entries  now .

Note : You should not Skip this test when doing in production ,

As it is a test system you can enjoy and relax 🙂

Thanks ,

Thank you all for your answers!

This is just some test system I installed.

I know I shouldn't,  but I did skip this step.

Now I am in a preprocessing phase MAIN_SHDRUN/ACT_UPG.

Is it late now to delete entries in this tables?

Should I use sql editor to delete these tables in dbacockpit?

Thanks in advance.

Hi  Zeljko ,

Is the  concerned system productive ?  If yes then be very careful .

Are all the background Jobs and  users logged out of the system?

If yes  for the above ,then  you may clean up the pending  updates .

[ Note : Check your TRFC queue in SM58  and SMQ1/Q2 some transactions may be executing ]

Thanks ,

Manu

Have you checked

Entries cannot exist in the update tables when you upgrade to a higher release. If the aforementioned measures fail, you may need to clean the tables VBHDR and VBERROR using database tools.

Best to use database tools to clean the tables first and retry the process.

Like I said, I already tried this, except manually editing tables VBHDR  and VBERROR. What would bi impact of skipping this step since this is only SPS update, and not release or EHP upgrade?
