Can't select CDM objects in a diagram after upgrading SP03 to SP04

We have a CDM (which is part of a Project object) that when we check it out of the repository, we're unable to select objects (Entities, Associations, Association Links) on diagrams which existed in the model prior to upgrading our repository from SP03 to SP04. We're on 16.5 SP04 PL01 (64 bit).

We can right click on them in the Browser and see their properties, drag them from the Browser into a new diagram, use Show Symbols to add the objects to a new diagram where we can then edit their properties, but we cannot select them on diagrams which existed in the model prior to upgrading from SP03 to SP04.

Has anyone seen this type of behavior?

It's like the existing diagrams are locked from being changed graphically.

I've not seen PD do this by itself, but I have caused these symptoms deliberately, by grouping or protecting symbols.

• unprotect all protected symbols on a diagram via the symbols menu
• ungrouped all grouped symbols have on a diagram by:
  • pressing Ctrl+A to select all symbols on a digram
  • right-click any symbol, and select 'ungroup symbols'
