Transportation unit tracking

Hi,

With integration to TM, whats the object we track using transportation unit  tracking functionality? We already have FU/FO/fb and resource tracking already.Whate xtra tracking functionality is provided by tranportation unit

Hi,

transportation units have been introduced as new transportation order category in SAP TM. They can be used railcar units, trailer units or container units (depending on which release you are). If you use these kind of transportation order documents in the planning, you are then also able to track the execution of these transportation units with application object type ODT30_TU.

Example: A freight unit has three stages, for the first two stages it is loaded on a trailer (which is represented by a trailer unit), which is coupled to two different trucks (which are represented by two freight orders), one for each stage. For the third stage the FU is loaded on a third truck (no trailer). SO for the first two stages, we would have the FU with trailer unit and two freight orders and for the last stage there is the FU and one more freight order.

Hi,

We have a requirement where the location of rail car units ( no locomotive tracking)  , position availability of railcar units etc are to be monitored.In that case do we activate RES30_resource considering we are working on TM 9.1.Currenty coupling functionality is also out of scope
