SAP IQ (Sybase IQ) monitoring

hello Solution Manager experts,

does anyone know how to monitor SAP IQ database in Solution Manager? (formerly Sybase IQ)

or do we need to use SAP Control Center which are shipped with SAP IQ?

Your advice appreciated..

Hi Shiroh,

Please check SAP note 2114824 - Solution Manager Setup: Sybase IQ
Supportability for pre-reqs.

You will need to be on SOLMAN SP12 or higher.

Of course you are right. I just tested the Configuration. I'm using SolMan 7.1 SP13 and applied the Notes:

2094872 - SIQ: Enablement of IQ Alerting for SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP12

2114824 - Solution Manager Setup: Sybase IQ Supportability

and used the mentioned - SAP First Guidance - SAP-NLS Solution with Syba... | SCN

Here we are:

One Remark: This is the Standard Functionality. At this time the SAPHostAgent 7.20 is not Supporting the SAP IQ Database. So when you configure your SAP IQ Database further in SLD or in the SolMan, some functionality will not be available, yet.

Hello Roland,

if the SAPHostAgent 7.20 is not supporting SAP IQ how can we get the Alerts in the Solution Manager MAI Alert Inbox? Will this be part of SP13? Will SP13 provide a SAP IQ DB Monitoring Template?
We need guidance to decide in which monitoring option we will invest. Current Alternative is the SAP IQ Cockpit measure where Alert can trigger scripts which can offer the integration in our backend Event Management Solution (Netcool).

What is the SAP direction?

Hi,

we have not any dates yet about the SAPHostAgent support, and this is also not related to any SolMan SP delivery.

As you stated correctly, the SAP IQ COCKPIT is the current monitoring tool and direction.

Update:

The Current Version of the SAP Solution Manager should be capable to monitor SAP Sybase IQ directly.

However, you can use the SAP IQ COCKPIT and the transaction DBACOCKPIT to monitor SAP IQ as well.

Sorry to bother you,

but is there a guide to troubleshooting the DB connection? I've created a connectino in DBCO, but test with ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION leads to restart of the connection with error 23.

Any suggestion?

Have a look to the mentioned Guide above.

Mostly it is a file permission problem on Linux, or a missing path.
