Hell All,

Can anybody help me regarding queries on SAP SRM-SUS

1) Difference between SUS implemented in SRM 5 & SRM 7?

2) we know SUS is implemented so that suppliers are connected through & login, so how does the security risk is mitigated?

Hi Fazhlay,

1.) Generally the SUS application has not changed much between SRM 5 and 7 (at least not as much as the SRM applications) The main difference is in some added functionality for the support of service items in the MM-SUS scenario and some text transfer support. As of SRM release 7.02 there was a bigger change regarding the UI, the look and feel of the application has been changed, but the functionality remained the same.

2.) The recommended system landscape for a SUS deployment is to implement SUS on a different system than SRM. This system then can be placed in the DMZ allowing the corporate firewall to take care of security. Also suppliers do not have direct access to the SRM purchasing system this way. Of course it is possible to implement SUS on the same system in a different client than the SRM purchasing system, this will soften up security a bit, but reduces TCO.
