Changes in System Profile Parameters by RZ10...

Hello to All,

I made changes in RZ10.I edited two parameters:

rspo/auth/pagelimit =1 (For Print page limit)

login/system_client = 100 (For changing the client)

It throws an error :"j2ee/dbname changes not permitted",while we have not made any modification in dbname.?

Why is it  so..?

Another question is how can we revert the profile(before made changes..)

Although we made changes 2-3 times in RZ10.

How can we revert..??

Please guide me..??

Please go through with the attachment.(Error Snapshot)

Regards,

JUNAID

Hi Junaid ,

You dont need to worry about the  above j2ee parameters when the check is done from the  RZ10  .

When you change any parameter check only whether you have issues with the changed parameter

You can go back to an older version as suggested by Peter above  or more better you can load an old version in RZ10 itself by  putting the version number .

When you edit any ABAP parameter it is always a good practice to do it from RZ10

Thanks ,

Manu

Hello Junaid,

There is a consistency check that runs every time there was a change, but the error message can be ignored if transaction RZ10 is used, or the change is made directly on the filesystem.

RZ10 creates a backup on the filesystem. Go to the profile directory, and check .BAK files there.

/sapmnt/<SID>/profile/ named <PROFILE>.BAK

Those are the previous profiles that can be restored by changing the file name. Then restart the system.

Peter
