Changing the Material X-distribution-chain material status from Sales order

Dear Experts,

For the construction industry, for each flat/unit, we are creating one material code, and for the status of that material whether it is available, sold etc. we set the respective status in the Material master field 'X-distribution-chain material status '  MARA-MSTAV, presently when an order is created we are changing the status from available to sold, through user exit, but is there any standard way for this, we want to change the material status through order.

Our material type is non-valuated material.

Hi Zafar,

Cant you create the generic material and assign the serial number profile. Each serial number will represent the unique  flat/apartment.

Hi Zafar,

Using serial no. is a good way in such requirements, as suggested by other posts.

Now, you have mentioned that, currently its running and you are using a user exits. So, if its running smoothly, why do you want to change the configuration now..? I am asking to know the requirement in detail..

Our system is working properly but just wanted to find out if there is any standard way, as it is always nice to use the standard procedure instead of any custom development.

Hi Zafar,

Dont think this can be possible through standard configuration. The basic requirement is to block the material once a sales order is created and saved, there by allowing only one sales order for that material.. is it so..?

Hi Zafar,

Use serial number along with the material, system will automatically block the use of the same material + serial number once it is sold

Just serial number profile assignment in Plant data tab of material master

This is standard approach and it is not required to use any enhancement or exit further
