Hi Jana,

Could you update current kernel with latest patch available at SMP or update the kernel with 721_EXT and try again.

Hi Rana,

As per your suggestion we have set the value for DIR_PUT in default value as /usr/sap/put.

And restarted the Sum tool but still the same issue exists.

Jana

Hi Jana,

Please check for any file in path that should not be in this directory:
<SUM>\abap\log

Sapcar failed to extract some files and caused phase to end abnormally.
Once done, then repeat the phase.

Thanks

Hi Vikram,

We have renamed the existing log file and created a new log folder and re-executed the SUM tool, but still the issue exists.

After restart could you share value of parameter DIR_PUT by using SE38 ---> RSPARAM --->Execute or from Transaction TU02.

Hi Rana,

Please find the value of DIR_PUT.

Dir_put = /usr/sap/SID/SUM/abap

Dir_put = //hosname/sapmnt/put

Hi,

Could you set value of DIR_PUT with default value i.e /usr/sap/put .Also here we need not to specify two different values for the parameter as like you've given :

Dir_put = /usr/sap/SID/SUM/abap

Dir_put = //hosname/sapmnt/put

Try to set DIR_PUT value to /usr/sap/put only and start the process again .

Hi Jana,

After addition have you restarted the system,if no try to restart and rerun the phase again.If still issue persist than re share SHDINST_OS.log file.

Hi Jana,

Issue could be because of non defining of parameter DIR_PUT.I suggest you to define parameter DIR_PUT as according to SAP KBA   822296 - Additional info: Upgrade to SAP NW 2004s AS ABAP (iSeries)

SHDINST_OS phase

Symptom: The SHDINST_OS phase terminates with the following error message:

           Error message CPF0006 running 'CRTR3INST SID(VAK) INST(05) ROLE(*SHADOW)'

The job log contains the following message,

           CrtR3Inst: Shadow instance can only be created when PUTDIR is set.

Cause: Error in command CRTR3INST. You want to use the default value /usr/sap/put for DIR_PUT and therefore did not specify it explicitly in the profile. CRTR3INST expects an entry in every case.

Solution: Add the following entry to the DEFAULT.PFL:

           DIR_PUT = /usr/sap/put

After that try to rerun the phase.

Hope this will resolve your issue.
