Storing and Retrieving values using UDF in SAP PI 7.1 Table

Hi Experts,

Good Day to you all!

I would like to know if it would be possible to use a UDF in storing and retrieving values from an internal table created in SAP PI 7.1?

The flow is outbound then inbound. We would like to store a certain field in the database for the outbound flow so that the inbound flow can read the database and know that the outbound flow has already been sent to the target. There are instances that an inbound flow is sent (manually) which causes an error in ECC since the outbound has not been sent yet.

Hoping to hear from you guys!

Thank you and have a great day ahead of you!

Regards,

Marcus Murillo

Bonus Question: So For example, the inbound has sensed that the outbound has not been processed yet, it will then wait and retry after 5 mins and wait again until the value is in the database table. Would that be possible as well?

Hi Marcus,

You can do it at mapping level with a JDBC lookup or if the table is in SAP to do an RFC to store/retrieve the values and to do a RFC lookup. Check these:

Hi Inaki,

Thank you for your response! Really appreciate it! By the way, would you happen to know how to make the processing wait until the entry is in the database without using BPM?

Have a great day ahead of you!
