SAP GUI for Windows and Support of JAVA 8

Hello Specialists,

can someone please point me into the right direction where I can find detailed Information about SAP GUI for Windows and it's support of JAVA 8 ?

So far I wasn't able to find the right SAP Notes within the SAP Support Portal.

Any help is very appreciated.

apart from that, there is no Jre requirement

I'm actually trying to find out if there are any restrictions why JAVA 8 should not or cannot be used at the moment.

e.g. like SAP Note 1999090 - "Does SAP BI product support JAVA 8 version ?

Java 8 is just released March 2014, and not supported by SAP BI Platform as of now, currently there is no exact plan to Support JAVA 8 for XI3.1 and BI 4.x, ..."
