Dear Guru's,

I would be de-initializing and re-initializing planning area, so this purpose i need to take a backup into BW infocube. Kindly guide with SAP standard best practice for the same.

Thanks in advance

Kind Regards

Kartik

Hi Kartik,

You need to generate a data source.

Go to /SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN, select you planning area.

Then in the main menu --> Extras --> Generate data source. Once the data source is created, it is replicated in BI. Then execute the common steps needed in BI.

Here you have some documentation:

Extracting Data from a Planning Area - Planning Area Administration - SAP Library

Kind Regards,

Hello,

First in T-cod: /sapapo/sdp_extr:
1) Create datasource for your planning area

2) Test the datasource

3) Create backup cube

4) Replicate datasource

Then in BW side (RSA1)
1) Create DTP and transformation

2) Create infopackage
3) Execute DTP and infopackage

You use /sapapo/tscube to reload the data from infocube to planning area.

Hi Ada,

If i have the relevant latest data therein APO BW infocube (from where we copy the shipment history records to planning area), do i still need to take the backup of planning area?

Kind Regards

That's depends on your business. If the data in the cube is already enough for you, of course you don't need to perform data backup

I understand its not only about shipment data. there must be some manual entries in the KF which you dont want to loose.

so back will help.

also you might be doing this de-initilization due to some issue. you must having back up process set right?

if yes, check when was hte last back up and do accordingly
