Is it possible to copy or rename an existing project in Data Insight

Hi Asheesh,

There is no facility in either the CMC or Data Insight to copy or rename projects.

I think the reason you can't copy a project is because if the project contains private rules this would lead to duplicate rule names (rule names must be unique within an IS instance).

Potentially you could rename a project as follows:

1. Export the project
2. Delete the project (using the CMC)
3. Create a new project with the required name
4. Import into the new project

This is not something I have tried and I would advise caution as I have seen some issues with export/import.  If you really do need to rename a project I would recommend trying out this approach on a representative test project before doing on your actual project (and take full a backup of your IS repository before starting, so that you can recover if necessary).

I will test the export and import function with a dummy project and update my post shortly

I was able to export the project into a ZIP file,delete the project,create a new project with a new name and import the project exported into this new project
