CHARM-Empty task in a Transport request

Former Member

Dear Experts,

We are using CHARM-Normal change - Solman 7.1 SP10.

We have an intermediate status(Review) after In development and before testing.

If a Transport request contains one empty task and other tasks with objects, then empty task is not getting auto deleted.

If the transport request itself is empty then it is getting deleted.

Clear Empty action or ALL TASKS Released check is not deleting this empty task present in a TR containing other tasks with objects.

However when the CD status is testing, it is deleting empty tasks present in TR.

Any suggestions on the above issue?

Thanks and Regards,

Vijay

Hi Vijay,

Yes you are right, it will check all task of the transport is released or not(one task have objects and one is empty), all tasks should release to create TOC, all empty transports will delete automatically when do the testing.

Thanks

Hi,

Empty task will not delete when you do the testing with ChaRM, you have to delete or release the empty task manually from SAP system than you can test and generate the TOC from change document.

Thanks

Hi Jalandhar,

Ideally the check - All Tasks released - action should check that empty transport request is also released or not, right?

Thanks and Regards,

Vijay

Hi,

Have you tried assigning the action DELETE_EMPTY in the define execution time of action (or check the consistency check), (SPRO->go to SOLMAN->Capabilities-> Change request management->Change request management framework->Make settings for change transaction types)
