Hello,

F is not supported by SAP now. Please see note 16420.
G should work well for frontend printing. note 821519.

But please note that frontend printing cannot be used for background job.

Hi,

Here could you perform one more test at your end.

Try to change access method from F to G and give one test print out from the SAP system ,and check are you getting pop up to select the printer from the list ? Kindly confirm.

Hi,

You surely needs to update patch for your specified printing device,as issue showing printer is unknown to windows print manager.

One thing more are you able to take print outs from the device without using it from SAP (General printing test )

Hi,

Have you checked by re installation or by driver update of the specific printer  ? Also confirm for any network related issue at your end.

Best would be test another/similar printer instead of Brother MFC-8880DN .

Hi Abhimanyu,

Check the printer ip address in the system hosts entry.

Hope this works out.

Since Access Method Is F, I don't think there should be an entry of the printer IP in host system.

Hi AP

1.  On you desktop have you enable the firewall or UAC? and Disable the security settings in SAPGUI and then try the frond end printout?

2. From the front end how you are connected the printer? other then SAP are you facing any issue in the printing?

3. If possible apply the latest service pack on SAPGUI 7.30 patch level 9.

Hello,

Try to use host spool access method G, you can change it or create a new one output device in SPAD, with G method you do not need SAPLPD.

If you have to use F method, please check SAPLPD logs.

Please find the SAPLPD log which is from my system when I try to print from SAP.

User uses  Brother MFC-8880DN Printer in the front end printing.

Hello Abhimanyu,

What kind of spool access method are you using?

If you use SAPLPD, do you have an error log?

Please check note 504952.
