Importing CUP workflows from GRC 5.3 to GRC 10 and change them

Hello Experts,

We are migrating our SPM,RAR and CUP data from GRC 5.3 to GRC 10.1.At present in our CUP we have user access request workflow as 2 stage workflow. Now in GRC 10.1 we require a 1 stage workflow.

I wanted an advise if it would be feasable to import the GRC 5.3 workflows and then make changes into it and remove one stage.

Or create new workflows using BRF+.

we are not sure as to what changes can be performed in the workflows imported from GRC 5.3.

Please advise

Regards,

Apeksha

Hi,

From experience, it is much easier to re-create the 5.3 workflow from scratch on the 10.0/1 system. It is somewhat easier to avoid using the migration tool for the Access Request functionality.

Any CAD rules created in 5.3 is not exportable, therefore it is safer to create such custom rules from scratch in BRF+.

Also, by creating the workflow from again in 10.0/1, you will be able to understand how MSMP works and be quicker in debugging any future issues faced within the 10.0/1 MSMP workflows.

If you are stuck with anything, you are likely to find answers to your questions on this forum

all the best.

Hi Apeksha,

I am not sure about GRC but normally, workflow have an option of exporting and importing.

So, you can export workflow from one system to your local system and then import it back to your new system from your local system.
