Hi everyone!
I am having trouble running solman_setup and other transactions that use web browser on my Solution Manager 7.1 SPS12. The issue is that the the performance is very slow. Every click takes several seconds to load the page, no matter what I click. When I use standard SAP GUI, performance is pretty good. My browser is Internet Explorer. What could cause this? How can I improve performance?
Thanks in advance!
HI Zeljko,
Please check the following KBA:
1676755 - Performance optimization in Solution Manager IT Service Management
You need to check version of your IE and check in PAM if that version is supported or not. BUt this above KBA will help you improving the performance in WEB UI.
Thanks
Vikram

Hi again,
I noticed that WEB GUI is slow only when I run it on client 001 on my Solution Manager, but when I run it on clients 100 and other, it runs pretty fast. How is this possible?
Thanks

Hi Zelijko,
what IE Version are you running? We had similar problems and downgraded to IE 8. Since then it works fine.

Hello!
With HTTPWatch you can also use Browser developer tools (F12) and Network tab.
Also, you can use SAP Client plug-in (note: 1041556) to check GUI times and Presentation server performance problem. Also, you can use Perfmon utility (from Microsoft) for check the performance of your PC.

Hi Zeljko,
WebGUI requests pass through ICM. You should also analyze ICM logs/ traces and look at fine tuning ICM related parameters. SAP Note 737625 talks about parameter recommendations.

Is it possible to set Chrome as the default browser for WEB GUI? I tried chrome, and it is working much faster then IE.

Hi Zeljko,
Hope you are doing good.
It would be a good idea to disable any add ons that you have in your browser and then check the performance.
Usually in such cases, a httpwatch trace will help.
Take 2 httpwatch traces (one when the issue occurs) and one when it works fine . Download the httpwatch tool (free from www.httpwatch.com) and check the trace.
Kindly note that the clicks are minimum when you take the trace and that you navigate to the error scenario and clear the browser cache before starting the "recording" activity (run this on server node 0, see SAP NOTE 1589567). More information is available in: note 1558903 - How To Trace a Portal Scenario Using HttpWatch.

Hi ,
Hope you are doing good.
It would be a good idea to check PAM (http://service.sap.com/pam) and make sure that this is not a browser issue. Also check notes similar to SAP note 1785100 so that you get the best of your browser.

Hi,
The WEB GUI is always a little more slower than the SAP GUI. Perhaps you have too much addons installed on the IE.
Could you open the IE without addons and enter the SOLMAN address to the workcenters and compare with the usual way?

MM
