Hi Experts,

We are in need of the password  for the system user used in RFC between XI (7.0) and SAP prodcution system.

The connection was made long back and so no one is maintaing the password.

We have checked with basis and security team. But both are not having.

Can you please provide pointers on how to get the password.

Pls note: password reset is not recommended.

Thanks,

Pavi

Hi Pavi,

As previous posts said, reset in the target system then maintain it in the RFC destination, is always the recommended way, actually could be an easier way. Even you find it in the user table, it will be

some hashed data.

Hi,

You can simply reset the password of the desired user on SAP PRD system.

AFAIK, PI can not retrieve passwords for any of communication channels since passwords are the property of connected systems to PI like SAP/Non-SAP.

So better to ask your admins to reset the password and then assign it to your desired communication channels.

Hi Pavi,

Raise a message with SAP, it might be a consulting issue for them but still if you need password. See if they can help you.

Hi Pavi,

If you don't have the password maintained, the only option you have is to reset and maintain it across all the places user is used.

Thanks,

Hi Pavi,

There is no way i know of wherein u can get ur old passwd. U will have to reset it and maintain new passwd wherever it is being used(whichever RFCs) To check which RFCs use that user, u can run a report which provides details.
