Hi, guys!
I'm interesting in connection BI Universes and MS Excel.
And I found the post - how to do this using Power Query.
After entering my credentials I see my universes in the Navigator pane.
But when I open the folder of any universe I get an error:
What should I do to solve this problem?
I have:
- SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1 Support Pack 4
- MS Excel 2013
- .unx universes designed in SAP Information Design Tool
Appreciate your help!
Regards, Alena.
Dear all,
the problem is still actual.
I want to use universe as a datasource for Excel reports but can't cope with the error.
May be somebody have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Alena

Hi Alena, When using Microsoft power query, it is the reporting tool, where the universe is the backend. But I think you are wanting to create a universe from excel spreadsheet to use for reporting in Web Intelligence? 1. Starting with 4.1 sp2 you can report from Webi on Excel directly

2. here's a note on how to create a universe on excel http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-49324
3. make sure you check the product matrix for which Excel is supported. heres a shortcut to the support guides. bottom left of page http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/x/5INeFw

Hi, Jacqueline!
Thanks for your reply!!
Tell me, please, the first and the second links are the same, is this correct?
And about MS Power Query. I want to use universe as datasource and make an Excel report (use measures and dimensions in Excel columns). But can't cope with an error.
Regards, Alena
