Hi Keyur P,

in SAP we have only

Common distribution channel -VOR1

Common Divison,-VOR2 dont have common sales organizations.

purpose: in our previous proj, we had 10 DC's which shares the same data.

we have several customers ,it will take more time to create customers in all DC's.

eg: 100 customers, 1 sales org - 10 dc's -1 div ,total sales areas- 10 ,

now we need to create customers in all sales areas nothing but, 100*10= 1000,

which occupies more data, time consuming and risky,

rite,

to minimize risk, save the space n time.

we make one DC as a ref DC and assign all the DC's to ref DC.

so whenever v create transaction using new DC's, ref DC data will share to rest of DC's.

DC-------Ref DC

---00,

this data will be shared between master data's like Customer master data, material master data & Condition master data.

similarly , for Divison also

2-- Both are for maintaining condition records only

but in VK11 , u can maitain records for both condition types ,standard and customizing- ZP00

where as in Vk31, only for standard u can create condition recors- PR00

*Hope this Clears, reward points

It is required to maintain Common Sales Organization, Distribution channel & Division. If it is not maintained, it will give error in creatin of Customer master, Sales Order, & so on....

VK11 is to maintain Condition record. I suppose VK31 is also similar, but I have not worked with it.

Hi Keyur,

Regarding Question No.1.

Common Sales and Distribution Master Data

Use

You can define that customer master records, which have been created for each sales organization for a distribution channel (or division), are also valid in other distribution channels (or divisions). As a result, you create and change customer master records that are required in different distribution channels or in different divisions only once. This makes it easier to create and change master records.

Hope this helps you.

We use common SO and D.Ch when the master data is going to be similar like cuostmer, or if u want to conduct similar pricing.

Generally this type of setting help in reduction of database e.g. By maintaining cust. in one sales org will be sufficent, the same cust. u can reffer in all SO's

Abt vk11 and vk31

I am not sure.
