Hi All,

I have installed ABAP + JAVA - NW-04 .

I am sure that WAS is installed coz i am able to access http://localhost:5<instno>00/

However in SAP MMC I cant see any of the Java Process List.

All I can see is

Host <instance No>

-> Process List

-> Msg Svr

-> disp + work

-> IGSWD

And in WP Table only the ABAP WPs.

Can some one help?

Hi

I have the same issue on my sap server. I could only see the following in my sapmmc:

  • SID
    • Node 0
      • Process list
        • Msg_service.exe
        • Enserver.exe
        • Gwrd.exe
      • Syslog
    • Node 1
      • Process list
        • Jstart.exe
      • AS Java Process Table
        • Debugproxy
        • Icm
        • Server0

I checked already the expert mode and the shared folder “saploc”.

The system is a SAP NW 7.4 sps06 on MaxDB.

Any idea why I could not see all AS Java Task/Processes?

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards

Peter

Hello,

We had this problem as well. For us, it was caused because the J2EE engine was starting in Safe Mode. By turning off Safe Mode using the J2EE config tool and restarting the instance(s) they reappeared in MCC.

Hello,

In NW04 you will not be able to see any java processes in the MMC.It can be seen in MMC only from NW04S onwards as a seprate element.

Now for you to see the processes, go to you task manager you would be able to find one jcontrol and three jlaunches.If this is available then every thing is working fine.

One more way to check is to open jcmon from the command line by specifying the profile parameter and you can view the java processes like dispatcher,server and SDM.

Hope this clarifies your query.

Thanks and Regards,

-Bijesh.

Hi,

1) Goto <b>usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run\sapstartsrv.exe</b>

2) Click on <b>sapstartsrv.exe</b>

Specify SID, Instance number, J2EE profile path and click on ok.

Then you can be able to see java instance details in MMC

Hello Kanthi,

I am having the same problem.

Can you explain a bit more on the J2EE profile path? Are you refering to the SAP start profile? is there a separate J2EE start profile?

cheers

Thanks Kanthi Kiran! That worked for me.

Just one more information, for those reading this thread and still having the problem:

Check if the folder:<DRIVE>:\usr\sap is shared with the name saploc. This was another thing that was wrong with my environment.

I have the same problem as well, to solve it I just uncheck the "Expert user mode", apply it. And then recheck the box again.

"SAP Systems->go to properties->General tab->check expert mode"

Java Process Table is available in SAP NetWeaver 7.0. Please refer to <a href="/people/dirk.jenrich/blog/2007/05/30/do-you-know-the-sap-management-console-sap-mc blog for more details.

Hi Bidwan,

Refresh 2-3 times right clicking on SAP systems also on sub nodes as well.

check permission to see those services from your ID.

else check restarting the engine for some time.

even for me also it happened some time though i selected expert mode.

last option you can do is uninstalling and installing fresh engine.:-)))

Reward suitably if it hepls

Hi Bidwan,

In the case of SAP Web AS ABAPJ2EE System, the Java processes are not shown in the SAP MMC, they are integrated in the dispwork process.

You can find more info about administration of SAP Web AS ABAP+J2EE Systems <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/86/43b14041ecf10fe10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">here</a>.

Vladimir,

So do u mean to say that any of the j2ee processes like jcontrol is not at all visible in MMC?

Hi Bidwan,

Yes it's true that jcontrol.exe is not visible in case of ABAPJAVA instance. It's within dispwork.

However you should be able to see SDM, dispatcher, and server nodes.

If every thing else is working fine, no need to worry.

Just restart the cluster and hopefully you should be able to see.

Mantosh,

I am not able to see the SDM, dispatcher, and server nodes. That was my question. Any idea why so? All j2ee processes are running but I am not able to see them in MMC

Hi,

Nothing to worry. Sometimes it does happen.

Just ensure that the VM settings are right. and restart the cluster. if not restart the machine.

It will work fine.
