Tank planning

Dear all,

I have the following scenario.

A semi finished product is produced, and stored in a tank/silo. The goods receipt is done to store it in the tank/silo.

When the tank/silo reaches a certain level it can be packed using a pack to order process order.

Can this be done in PP/DS? If so, please explain the solution.

Or can this be done in ECC PP-PI module?

You can use the resource with storage characteristics

Actual fill level

           The actual fill level of a resource with storage characteristics is the fill level at the start of planning in the resource.It is affected by goods postings of the filling and discharging orders.

The actual fill level can only be used with an R/3 System. In general, the capacity at the work center in R/3 corresponds to the resource in APO.When you use the actual fill level, the work center in R/3 must be allocated to a storage location.The combination of capacity and storage location then corresponds to the resource with storage characteristics in APO.

Thank you. Do you know if we can only plan on resources withy storage characteristics uinsg PP/DS optimizer? Or can we use it also without PP/DS optimizer?

thanks Rupesh, we are not using the PP/DS optmizer
